Through our project Salvando Vidas (Saving Lives), we combine best practices into a more comprehensive and far-reaching programme to achieve lasting change. It seeks to improve and strengthen existing mechanisms to protect the lives of social leaders in Colombia, while innovating through a more holistic approach with a citizen-to-citizen dimension. Saving Lives will create country-specific programmes that take full account of the local context, while presenting a replicable model so that other concerned expatriates living in the Netherlands can collectively use their knowledge and connections to directly support human rights defenders in their respective countries. The three components of the Salvando Vidas Project are:
